Hawthorne Gardening

The ground floor of an existing postwar building was repurposed to house the offices of a new startup focused on urban gardening materials and products. While previously generic in its organization, including cubicles and private offices, the clients asked us to rethink the layout of the space to reflect the new ways they are working. Large and small teams focusing on specific projects need to be able to meet and collaborate. By placing four standalone wood clad boxes throughout the floor a variety of open office spaces and smaller meeting areas were created. A lab space for product testing and an open kitchen were also added. Materials were selected carefully and left in their raw state as much as possible.
